Artist statement:
“The male nude is the main thematic on which I center my work. I would describe my work as based on oppositions. Exposing both components of men : the strength but also the most sensible and feeble side. The strength and tension on the mass of muscles, the hands always offered to the viewer.
Deep zones of darkness in contrast of lightened surfaces and though the bodies are well defined, the faces stay anonymous, leaving an open space for the viewer to participate with he’s own imagination.
Though the result is accurate, the process it’s impulsive and based on quick brushstrokes I like to submerge myself into the deepest substance of men and bring up to the surface of my paintings what I’ve found hidden.”
